Programs > Toddler Program
Around 1, up to 30 months
Toddlers make great strides toward social awareness, enlarging their vocabulary and testing their independence. Lehigh Children’s Academy teachers are there all along the way – from your child’s first steps to toilet learning, we help your child develop their skills and encourage their curiosity and exploration.
- Children explore and learn about their environments through age-appropriate experiences and exercises designed to help them develop at their own pace.
- Separate classrooms for younger and older toddlers meet the changing needs of this population.
- Teachers plan for daily structured activities and time for creative play that will give children ample opportunities to build their cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, language and literacy and social emotional skills.
- As toddlers test their independence, we encourage the development of their self-help skills, including eating with utensils, toilet learning, cleaning up, sharing, early problem-solving skills, and hand-washing.
- Teachers make every attempt to keep the classroom and materials as clean and germ-free as feasible. Toys and materials are washed and sanitized as they are used. The young toddler room is also a “shoeless” space to eliminate outside contaminants from the floor space the children are utilizing.
