Lehigh Children's Academy

A flexible approach that can be customized and adjusted for your child’s needs.

Curriculum > Universal Design for Learning

The Lehigh Children’s Academy curriculum incorporates Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.  UDL embraces the concept of improved access for all students and is applied to curriculum materials and teaching methods.  UDL provides a blueprint for creating instructional goals, methods, materials and assessments that work for everyone.  It is a not a single, one-size-fits-all solution but a flexible approaches that can be customized and adjusted for individual needs.

Delivering curriculum and implementing instruction through the lens of Universal Design means considering the needs of all learners, including strengths, weaknesses, and learning styles.  Instead of retrofitting a pre-designed curriculum, our teachers design and plan instruction to meet the specific learning needs of your child as an individual learner.  Universal Design for Learning is the framework for a different insight on learning.
